First swim

We finally were able to use our Seven Peaks passes! The weather here has been crazy so we haven't been able to go. But on Tuesday the weather was perfect!

We had a blast with our friends, the Lundbergs. Their family also bought season passes.

Avery loved this area of the water park. The water was a lot warmer there for some reason. It better not have been from all the little ones in their diapers :)

Logan

We only have one brave kid in the family. It's Logan. Here he is going down this awesome slide. He is the one on the right.
Bay would have nothing to do with any of the slides. Chicken!
Logan has no fear of things like this. He went on the Tower of Terror when he was 3. Bay has yet to go on that ride, and vows to NEVER EVER go on it. We will see sweet heart :)
After 6 hours at the park, we came home with major sunburns! I have no idea why we got burned so bad! I put sunblock on myself and the kids before we left the house and reapplied after a few hours. Now I'm scared to go back in the sun! I finally got blisters and am starting to peel. I hate getting sunburns! It's a good thing three out of the four kids have their fathers olive skin color. They look tan now. As for me and Carson, let's just say we will never have a tan :)

Two. Really?

My poor little Carson fell off the bleachers at one of Logan's baseball games and was given not one, but two black eyes. As he fell he hit a stair right smack between his eyes. Poor kid. This is what he was left with.

His nose is slowly getting better, but the swelling is still there. We hope he didn't break his nose. He doesn't complain it hurts, so we think he is ok. He hates the fact that when he closes one of his eyes and looks in the mirror he looks weird. You can't tell by the pictures, but his eyelids are in the brown green stage of bruising. Looks like he is wearing eye shadow.
To top it all off, Avery fell off of the players bench two days later and landed right on the cement. Her poor forehead is bruised. I swear if you didn't know me, you would think I beat my kids :(

Escape plan demolished

We finally were able to replace the front two sides of our fence. The old fence was so warped and sagging, that we couldn't open the gate without having to drag it across the grass. We were also so sick of our dogs getting out all the time. I hated having to chase them down, worry about them getting hit by a car or getting caught by the dog catcher and I really hated getting phone calls to let me know the dogs are roaming the neighborhood. (Stupid dogs) Anyway, we decided it was due time to go out with the old and in with the new. Sorry dogs, we have ruined your escape plan.

Here was the south side of the fence, well what was left of it after we took all the slats down.

And here is after. We didn't add a gate to this side cause we never used the old gate, so we figured, why put a gate in if it will never get used? Plus, it costs a bit more to add a gate.

The fence took about two full days to build. We decided to push the north side of the fence up about 12 feet. By doing this we had to dig out new fence post holes and pour cement. We lost track of time on the last day of fence building, and I had to stand outside with a flashlight while Morgan finished mixing and pouring the cement. That was a adventure.


Logan really was a big helper in this process. He is pretty good with a drill.

Geocaching

One of our favorite things to do is to go geocaching. You can read here to see one of our first adventures.

Yesterday we went up hiking up a trail in Kaysville. There was a cach box hidden in a cave that we had to find. We decided to try and use the gps on Morgan's phone. Yeah that didn't work out so well. We ended up going up a super steep mountain that took us about 45 out of our way! Next time we will just use our gps that we have in our car. Since we didn't have exact coordinates we had to go by the clues we got off line. After 2 and a half hours we almost gave up, but finally, I found the cach hidden in some rock. We were so happy to have finally found it!Here is the "cave" we had to climb up to find the cach box. This picture doesn't really show how high up you had to climb. It was kinda scary!

As our hike ended I talked with the kids about how they felt about the hike. I mentioned to them that we finished the hike because we helped each other out. Bailey helped Carson up steep parts and Logan had very encouraging words to say to everyone. We agreed that as a family we can do anything! Bailey pointed out also, that just when we wanted to give up, we decided to keep going and we found our reward! Isn't that how life goes? Just when you feel like you can't go on, our loving Heavenly Father wraps his arms around us and carries us through. What a blessing it is to have such a caring Father in Heaven. This hike is one we will never forget. We learned a lot about each other, and we got some pretty cool souvenirs :)

S-U-M-M-E-R is here!!

You wouldn't be able to tell, but it's officially summer! School is out and it's time for sleeping in and having fun! I'm excited to have the kids home, but at the same time I know that the kids will fight the entire summer. I'm trying to plan an activity and a fun hands on lunch or treat that they can make everyday. So far I have June almost planned out. Let's see if it will help with the chaos in our home. With Morgan having four days off every four days, we plan on having a rockin summer!

Take me out to the ball game

It's that time again! Baseball time! This year Logan is playing on two teams. He plays in Layton on the Rays and for Kaysville for the Indians. With him being on two teams, it means that he plays Tuesday-Friday. It's a good thing that Logan loves baseball as much as he does to have to play almost everyday of the week. Morgan is in heaven with this season. He loves the chance to be with Logan and play some ball. Two of his most favorite things :)

What a stud!

Fun summer treat

I saw these little "burgers" and just had to make them! They were so easy to make and they look so cute :) I took these babies to Logan and Bay's class for their last day of school treat. They were a hit.
I used vanilla wafers for the bun, yellow and red frosting for the ketchup and mustard, and a mint cookie for the meat. For the lettuce all I did was dye some coconut green with food coloring. And there ya have it, a burger I can eat more than one of at a time.
