No more diapers!!

After 9 long years of diapers we are diaper free at our house!! Yippee! We waited a little longer this time, as far as the age of when we teach the kids to start going in the potty. We really didn't have a reason to hurry this time. Usually our motivation is that we had a baby on the way, but not this time. So at 30 months, our little one is out of diapers and into little panties.
Here is a look at our week last week.

Avery spent most of the first few days glued to the potty. As long as she had a toy or book to read, she would just sit. We even brought the potty into the living room and watched some TV.

CALIFORNIA!! Part one

This year we decided to go down to California during the summer. Last year we went in October and the water was too cold. This vacation was all about spending all day at the beach! As much as I love going to Disneyland, this was much more relaxing :)
Morgan's grandma Rice lives in Huntington Beach. About 3 blocks from the pier where all the fun happens. We planned our vacation around the 4th of July. So many fun things go on down there on this holiday. (pictures to follow on another post)

We had some fun run ins with some sea life on our three day beach adventure.

The kids found that if they would dig in these barnacles they would find..................

Little black crabs! They were every where. They were hard to catch though. They would blend in with the barnacle and were really small.

We also got to see this little guy. This sea lion would come and try and sneak fish that people fishing off of the pier would catch.

Besides finding little black crabs, we also found sand crabs. Logan accidentally found out where they were hiding. He dug up some sand, and low and behold here is what he found.

After the shock of finding this guy in his hand, the kids decided to try and find as many as they could.

Avery loved the sand. She called it, " her big sandbox"

We had a lot of fun in the sand. Logan took one for the team and let us bury him.

Down by the pier they have lots of cool art work on building and on walkways. Here was one of my favs. Surf boards made out of granite.

We love to boogie board. Even Avery is learning the art of the boogie.

Avery had a love hate relationship with the ocean. She would only let the waves hit her toes. If she got a little to far into the ocean and the waves hit her shins, she lost it.

Grandma and grandpa Rice came down to the beach with us and brought their camera. Here is a fun picture of our little family.
We had so much fun on this trip. I have to say it was the most relaxing vacation we have had. One we made a lot of fun memories on, and one we wont ever forget.

Our fourth of July, Cali style

We started out our day by going to the HB fourth of July parade. This parade happens to be the biggest 4th of July parade in the United States. The day before the parade grandpa Joe went and found us the perfect spot to sit. Down in Cali instead of having to go and set out blankets and chairs to save your spot, people just use chalk and write their last name and mark off what they need. Pretty good idea, but I don't think it would fly here in Utah.

Grandma got two new kittens and unfortunately Avery broke out in hives. We had to give her benadryl and it made her sleepy.

Everyone in Huntington Beach rides on beach bikes. It's much better than trying to drive down town, especially on a day like this. Luckily for us our walk was only one block :)

Here is a fire truck that was in the parade. One of the first ones ever made. It was found and restored.

I didn't get a picture of the convertible that had Darrell, from Storage Wars ridding on (Morgan and I love that show) I did however get his autograph (he he) And no, I didn't ask for it, his wife asked me what Carson's name was, and then Darrell gave me a signed picture of himself. I think the t.v show he is on is getting to his head.

After the parade we hung out at the beach and stuck around for the fireworks. It was so awesome to see the fireworks while sitting on the beach listening to music playing to the show.

Happy 4th of July!!

Vegas baby!

On our way home form California we stopped and spent 2 days with our best friends the Patton's. As usual we had a great time. I forget how hard we laugh when we get together. Love them!

While we were visiting we celebrated Conner's 6th birthday. Melissa made some yummy cupcakes for us and we had a fun time at a splash pad. What a good way to cool off in Vegas weather.

Melissa has always been my crafting buddy. So of course we had to make something.

The kids all sleep on the floor together when we stay with the Patton's. The kids love it. I went in on our last night there, and took this picture. Bay is horrified about the fact that Conner is cuddling next to her. In-fact, I'm not sure she would appreciate me posting this picture on here lol
I so wish the Patton's lived closer, but we still have a wonderful time when we get together. True friends I tell ya!
