Yikes!

Don't you just hate it when your kids get hurt?! Today Carson tripped with a sucker in his mouth! When he came in screaming his ENTIRE mouth had blood in it. It was dripping out of his mouth. At first I couldn't see where the blood was coming from. Finally after he stopped crying he told me where it hurt. He had bitten the side of his cheek. He bit it so hard there are teeth marks on the outside of his cheek! I couldn't believe it! After about a min or so his cheek started getting swollen. I gave him some tylenol and a popsicle. He then asked if he could watch Toy Story. And of course he fell asleep on the couch. Nothing like a dose of his favorite movie.

Awwww

Look what I got yesterday! My sweet mom had them sent to me. I sure love her. She made my day!

Christmas in July

We went up to Casper WY for Christmas in July. It was a really fun weekend for us! We had good food, fun, and lots of laughs.

The kids loved playing with their cousins.

Avery had a special place in her heart for her cousin Kyle. She followed him every where, and wanted to be in his arms all the time. I would try and take her from him and she would shake her head no and push me away!

Here is a fun picture with Pa and his great grand children. It was hard trying to get all of the kids to look at me at the same time.

There was a bubble blowing contest. It was funny because half of the kids couldn't blow a bubble.

Shelby had no trouble making the biggest bubble.

It was so fun to see all of the wild life around us. We would wake up to deer in the front yard, bunnies jumping around, and the kids caught plenty of grasshoppers and june bugs. Hopefully next year the june bugs wont be out. I hate those little suckers! Any bug that can talk back to you is not a bug to mess with.
The deer here are so use to people you can actually feed them out of your hand. Here is Morgan walking up to a deer.

The guys went fishing two days in a row. They all had their float tubes, and went tubing down the river. Morgan caught 7 fish the first day (catch and release) and this guy the second day!
We ate homemade ice cream and drank homemade root beer.
The kids had plenty to drink. They loved these juice barrels.
The kids spent every day in the pools. There was a big pool for the big guys and a smaller one for the little guys.
I just had to have Bay pose for this picture. Pants made out of tree trunk. Do you like the WY licence plate used as a belt buckle? LOL
Avery wouldn't let me or Morgan rock her to sleep on the last night. All of the cousins went to see a movie and didn't get back til 11:oo pm. The only person who could get Avery to sleep was Rick.
Can't wait for next years reunion! We had a wonderful time.

A little ramble

It's been almost two weeks since I hurt my back. I can't tell ya what exactly happened, but all I know is that it hurt when it happened, and I have been in horrible shape since the day it went out on me. I still have really bad pain in the morning and at the end of the day. As long as I take 800 mil of ibuprofen, I'm okay. There is still pain, but it takes the edge off now. The first day I hurt my back I seriously was standing getting ready to go on a run. When I go and work out I have the kids follow me while they ride their bikes. I turned to help Bay with her helmet and out my back went. Immediate pain! I could barley stand. As the day went on, it got worse and worse. I went to bed and woke up in the worst pain I have ever been in! It was worse than natural labor, and I know this because I have done it! I tried to get up to go to the bathroom but when I stood up, I couldn't breath. I was in so much pain I couldn't relax. I had to lay back down. I called Morgan who had to come home, and I also called my sweet neighbor to come over and help me. She had to help me walk to the bathroom. She then, (being as sweet as she is) zoned my feet and cleaned my house!! Thank goodness for great friends! For the next two days I slept most the time. I was on some pretty good stuff :) Luckily, I hurt my back on a Wed and Morgan came home early Thursday and went in til 11:30 on Friday. From then on I had to do things on my own. It was hard, but luckily I had Bailey who was such a big help with Avery and the boys. She would get Avery in and out of her crib and high chair and carried her every where. When I was finally able to pick Avery up again, she cried for Bailey. Last Wed, I had Annie Russel come over and give me a massage. She used ice and heat and it helped out a lot. Unfortunately, the next day we went to WY and I sat in the car for 6 hours. That did me in again!! I'm glad the fam had some meds and I was able to rest. I had a lot of help with the kids. Today I'm feeling much better. The pain is mostly in my lower right side of my back. Tolerable but still no fun. I hope I'm better soon. My tummy can't handle all this ibuprofen!

Side walk paint

I found this really cool recipe to make side walk paint.

2 T cornstarch
2 T water
4 drops of food coloring
Mix in individual cups

Hot dog or octopus?

Octopus or hot dog? For this weeks fun food idea, we made octopuses out of hot dogs and dry noodles. I had the kids stick the noodles in the hot dog, and then I boiled the dogs. When the noodles were done, the hot dog came out with some wiggly arms. The kids got a kick out of it.

On another note, Bailey has memorized 5 of the 13 articles of faith. Her reward was a little ice cream get together. We had lots of toppings and the girls went wild with them.

Weber River

We went on a little adventure over the weekend. We went river rafting up the Weber river. Our good friends, the Rimington's, invited us to join them. It was a perfect day to float down a river. It was finally a 100 degrees! Even though it was hot, the water was sure COLD! But it did feel good! Luckily for us, only two people went overboard, thank goodness it wasn't me:)

It took us about and hour and a half to run the river. We decided once was not enough, so we went down it again. Logan wasn't too happy about it at first, I think he might have been a little afraid of falling in the water. As you can see he didn't want to be in the picture. If you look hard enough you can see his foot behind Morgan.

Bay's baptism pics

I had Bay's pictures taken yesterday wearing her baptism dress. This dress was given to her by her nana and nano. They got it from Peru. It really means a lot to Bailey. I think she looks beautiful in it!!

Good thing we have the 24th

It's a good thing we celebrate the 24th of July here in Utah. I made these crafts after the 4th of July. I was pretty busy last month with getting girls camp going. When I got back I got my craft on.

I have had this flag idea for a while. My good friend Melissa (a.k.a craft buddy) and I were going to make it when she came to visit. Unfortunately, her entire family got really sick and could make it!
I had Morgan cut me out some blocks. 5 long ones and one square. I wanted the flag to be in pieces.
I painted the blocks red and white. I didn't have any blue paint for the square so I decide to use some star fabric I had laying around instead.
I saw this idea on another blog.

Sorry for the bad picture. But had to show you my favorite part of this block set. The little guys! Cute eh?

Toy Story 3

Our family finally got to go see Toy Story 3!! Carson LOVES the Toy Story movies. He just can't get enough of woody and buzz. When we told him we were going to see number three he was so excited! Of course he had to take woody with him to the show. I have to say, Carson did so good and sat through the entire movie. Avery on the other hand, what were we thinking taking her with us?

Much better

I have been in the, "make it look like new" phase lately. I found this beauty at the DI. I thought I would paint it and give it a little love. I sanded it down then added a few coats of blue. The I added light dabs of cream over the blue. You can't really see it in this picture. When I downloaded the pics I did it backwards and it wouldn't let me switch them. Oh well. You get the just of it right?

Fourth of July

Usually we go to the Kaysville parade on the 4th of July. This year the parade was on a Saturday and we couldn't make it. So we decided to try the Layton parade. Let's just say the parade was by far the worst parade I have ever been to!! And that says a lot coming from me because I love parades. It was short and all it had was a bunch of high school bands. There was only two floats and a few horses. But my kids loved it. I have to say that I will never go to the Layton parade again!! Morgan loved it. He hates parades and this one was short. He says, the shorter the better lol

We got lucky and got front row seats in the middle of the intersection.
Our good friend Morgan joined us
One of two floats :)
