Geo Caching

We found a new free hobby. It's something our entire family can do together. It's called Geo caching. If you haven't heard of Geo caching I'm going to let you in on the fun. First, you need to go to this website. It's called geocaching.com. Then you can find an area that you want to go "treasure" hunting as my kids call it. The site will give you gps coordinates. Just put the coordinates in your gps and you can start hunting! It is a lot of fun.

Here is the ammo box we found hidden in some trees under a piece of wood. Some boxes are much smaller, which makes it harder to find them.

Here is what was inside. Bay chose a bag of marbles, Logan chose a pack of football playing cards, and Carson chose a train book mark. The rule of the game is, if you take something out you need to put something in. When you are done you simply put the cach box back where you found it. Cool huh?!
Once you have found the box, inside will be something for you to record your name and when you found the cach box. It's fun to see who has found the box before you.
No worries if you need some extra help once you found the box. They all have instructions in the box.

Carrots

I saw these carrots over at sassy style and I fell in LOVE with them! They were so easy to make. All I did was wrap some strips of fabric to some styrofoam cones and added some stems from a potted plant.

Here is a frame I made super easy

Spring

I have been lucky enough to have had time to make some crafts this week. I was able to make these cute blocks with two friends of mine yesterday (thanks honey) It took us about 5 hours to create these beauties! It was so worth it. I got the idea from a craft blog and we tweaked it a bit. I decided the letter i needed a little something more to it, so I came up with the idea of adding a little flower to dot the i. I think it added the perfect touch.

Happy St. Patty's day

This morning I made the kids a green breakfast. Noting much, just green eggs and green apple sauce. Carson's choice :)
I gave Avery some eggs and all she could do was look at them. I love the next picture of her showing me how she really feels about her green eggs

Bailey got a green tongue from eating her eggs

When I gave Carson his apple sauce he cried. He didn't know what to think of his green sauce! LOL
Tonight we will be having an Irish meal. I found this recipe at http://brandyscrafts.blogspot.com
Instead of using canned corned beef (yucky) I will use fresh beef that I will bake :) I'll let you know how it tasted.

Birthday pictures

Here is my little miss Avery's first birthday pictures.
I think they turned out so cute! I still can't believe she is one!

Things Avery can do at 12 months
Knows where her eyes are
can give kisses
New words she knows: dog, ya, me, outside
Tried out a swing
Loves to cuddle
Can climb off the couch
Tries to talk on the phone
Loves baby dolls
Tries to put shoes on and walk around
Throws some pretty funny fits (lays on the ground and puts her hands over her mouth)
Has to be outside if she sees her brothers and sister having a good time
Gets mad when she falls while walking instead of crying

Ears

Bailey got her ears pierced! I feel bad because she actually got her ears pierced about 6 weeks ago. I had to wait till Morgan added these pics from his phone to the computer.
Bailey did really good! I had to bribe her with a new webkin but it worked :) She was a bit nervous but she didn't even flinch!

Messy......but good!

Avery had no fear when it came time to tear into her birthday cake.

Here is her "smash" cake
I made Avery her 1st birthday hat by googling birthday hat templates, modge podging cute paper to the printout, gluing on some pink bowa, and adding a 1st birthday picture to it that I cut out from her high chair banner.

Are you sure this is okay?

This frosting stained everything it touched! Avery's body still has pink splotches on it.

Gifts

Avery was so spoiled! She got some fun things from her family. She got a rocking horse pony from her Nana and Nano, along with a stroller and a talking baby doll. Uncle Kody and Amanda got her a cute little people car! She loves to ride on it and dance to the music. Grandma Griggs got Avery some cute clothes that she will look darling in come summer.

Decorations

I wanted to make Avery a special birthday banner. Here is what I came up with.
I googled ice cream cone images and found this cone. I printed it off and then scanned it into my computer. I then printed it out a few sizes bigger on some heavy card stock to use as my template.

Next, I cut out red circles using my Cricut. Then I cut and glued pictures of Avery from birth to one year. I took pictures of her every month on her day of birth.

I used a paper hole punch to tie some ribbon to the cones to string them together.
