SNOW!

The day after we carved our pumpkins we woke up to this!! What in the world!? This just does not look right! Snow on our Halloween pumpkins. Boo!!

As much as I HATE snow the kids sure love every inch we get. So of course they had to go out and build a snow man in the first snow fall of the year, even if there wasn't much snow to build a big one.

They belong inside

It was time to get our carving done. This year we cleaned up on pumpkins. With our J&J pumpkins and with the pumpkins that Luis gave us, we each got two pumpkins! It's a good thing we only carved four. That way I will still have pumpkins for Nov.

Avery had a blast digging out the guts of this pumpkin. She actually would put all the seeds back in and out of the pumpkin just so she could squish her fingers in the goo.
This was much different than last year. She hated getting her hands all yucky.

Perfect pumpkins

It's been a tradition the last 5 years to go to J&J nursery and pick out our pumpkins from thier pumpkin patch.

This year their patch was in a diffeernt place than usual which made our wagon ride a bit longer. The kids loved the extra time they got to spend on the wagon.

 Perfect pumpkins!

Welcome to scouts!

Now that Logan is 8 he gets to be in the scouting program.
Logan has been really excited about becoming a scout. First of all, all of his good friends are in scouts and he has been looking forward to spending time doing scout stuff with them. He has watched his friends run off to scouts on Tuesdays for a long time. Now he gets to join them. Second, he has heard stories about Morgan's scouting days and has seen all of his badges. Logan can't wait to earn lots of badges like his dad. I on the other hand am not excited to try and sew on badges. Maybe I can get the iron on stuff huh??
Just the other night we went to our first PAC meeting where Logan earned his first badge. His Bobcat.
Here is to many more PAC meetings and lots of hard work earning his badges.

Shake it!

Avery has this personality that is so full of life. She is always dancing and singing and loves to dress up. We decide to put her in dance. It just fit her personality.
A good friend of mine had her little girl in dance last year and she had a great time. I decided to sign Avery up at Layton Academy of Dance where her little friend Atty goes. Mrs.Crystal is the name of Avery's teacher. Her dance class goes for an hour. The first half hour is tumbling and the second half is dancing. Avery loves to tumble. She is learning how to do back bends and cartwheels. In dance class she is learning to sashay and is picking up on the dance she will get to preform in a few months.

Morgan and I just laugh when we watch her in class. She loves to be front and center. She gets so into it and I can't help but smile the entire time we are there.

I just love this little girls crooked smile in this pic.

Thriller 2012

It's been our tradition for a few years now to go and see Odyssey Dance Theater's Halloween show, Thriller, at Kingsburry Hall. This year we went for my birthday.

Thriller is a Halloween Spectacular – it includes all your favorite Halloween characters such as Frankenstein, The Curse of the Mummy and Jason. It's so much fun to watch!

Of course being that my birthday was on the 14th, the kids got me a cake.
I guess I should say hello to 32. Really? I'm so not digging being over 30. sigh.

I can't wait!

8 has been a really big number for Logan.
Along with becoming another year older, he also was able to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints.
Leading up to this day was so full of excitement for Logan. Everyday he would say, only such and such days til I'm baptized mom! I can't wait!

Just look at the smiles from my boys. Both as proud as can be.

\

Logan got to share his special day with two other cuties.
Makayla Walker and Makai Kasyan.

I'm so proud that Logan decided to be baptized. This day was such a special day for all involved. I'm so blessed to have such a loving son who has brought so much to our family. He has such a special spirit about him. I know he will do great things one day. I love you forever and a day my son. Never forget it.

Temple open house

We went down to Brigham City to take a tour of the new Brigham City Temple that was built. I love being able to have my family in the house of the Lord with me. So many questions were asked and it was a wonderful way to help my children have a better understanding about what goes on inside of Temples.

Getting to ride on a tour bus was so much fun for the kids Who knew! Because of the mass amounts of people who attend the open house they have you park in other parking lots and then bus you to the Temple. The kids loved it.

Such a beautiful Temple

Families are FOREVER!

Angry Bird birthday

 Happy 8th birthday Logan!

This year we celebrated Logan's 8th birthday Angry Bird style.

Apparently we have a helium shortage so we were only able to fill mylar balloons. So star shaped balloons it had to be if I wanted to have Angry Bird colors.

I found some Easter eggs in our basement and spray painted them gold.

Homemade  pinata. Next time I will make it a lot stronger. After this puppy was full of candy and strung up, it only took one hit and the birdy was down. So we just tore it open and let the candy go flying.

I wanted to have a hands on activity for the boys to do so I decided to have them made slingshots out of pvc pipe. After they were assembled the boys added flame and checkered duct tape to the handle. They LOVED this idea!

What would a Angry Birds party be without having a life size Angry Birds game. We used a water balloon sling shot that we had in our shed. We used balls as birds and boxes for the bricks.

I split the kids up into teams and each team had to set up the boxes in a way that the other team would have a hard time knocking down.

We played pop the pig. I tied a balloon onto each boys leg and they had to try and pop each others "pig" The last one standing won a prize.

I found an awesome bingo game that I was able to print off of my computer. Easy peasy!

Presents are always fun for everyone.

Logan's cake. I have to say this cake was one of the easiest cakes I have ever made.

Birthday boy. I just love his smile :) I'm grateful that Logan is a part of our family. He brings so much joy and happiness into our lives. I can't believe he is 8! I remember the day I had this little hairy boy. Where has the last 8 years gone? I hope the next 8 years don't fly by as fast as the last 8 have. Happy birthday my little stud muffin. I love you a bushel and a peck.
