Temple open house

We went down to Brigham City to take a tour of the new Brigham City Temple that was built. I love being able to have my family in the house of the Lord with me. So many questions were asked and it was a wonderful way to help my children have a better understanding about what goes on inside of Temples.

Getting to ride on a tour bus was so much fun for the kids Who knew! Because of the mass amounts of people who attend the open house they have you park in other parking lots and then bus you to the Temple. The kids loved it.

Angry Bird birthday

Happy 8th birthday Logan!

This year we celebrated Logan's 8th birthday Angry Bird style.

Apparently we have a helium shortage so we were only able to fill mylar balloons. So star shaped balloons it had to be if I wanted to have Angry Bird colors.

I found some Easter eggs in our basement and spray painted them gold.

Homemade pinata. Next time I will make it a lot stronger. After this puppy was full of candy and strung up, it only took one hit and the birdy was down. So we just tore it open and let the candy go flying.

I wanted to have a hands on activity for the boys to do so I decided to have them made slingshots out of pvc pipe. After they were assembled the boys added flame and checkered duct tape to the handle. They LOVED this idea!

What would a Angry Birds party be without having a life size Angry Birds game. We used a water balloon sling shot that we had in our shed. We used balls as birds and boxes for the bricks.

I split the kids up into teams and each team had to set up the boxes in a way that the other team would have a hard time knocking down.

We played pop the pig. I tied a balloon onto each boys leg and they had to try and pop each others "pig" The last one standing won a prize.

I found an awesome bingo game that I was able to print off of my computer. Easy peasy!

Presents are always fun for everyone.

Logan's cake. I have to say this cake was one of the easiest cakes I have ever made.

Birthday boy. I just love his smile :) I'm grateful that Logan is a part of our family. He brings so much joy and happiness into our lives. I can't believe he is 8! I remember the day I had this little hairy boy. Where has the last 8 years gone? I hope the next 8 years don't fly by as fast as the last 8 have. Happy birthday my little stud muffin. I love you a bushel and a peck.

Friendly vandalism

It's that time again! College football season!

With every football season there always has to be some kind of friendly rivalry. This time we woke up one morning to this horrible sight.

Yep. We were tagged with an Aggie A!

Since we knew who was responsible for this crime, we had to retaliate.

Natural

Bailey decided that she wanted to play soccer this year. We signed her up and waited to see what team she was going to play on. She has never played soccer before but really really wanted to try it out. I was a bit nervous for her to start playing at ten years old. I was afraid that she wasn't going to be able to "hang" with the other girls. To our surprise Bailey is a natural soccer player!! She scored four goals her very first game! Wheels must run in the fam because Bay is super fast!

Bay's favorite position is playing forward. It's funny because this game is all new to Morgan and I. We have never played soccer and had no pointers to give her or had any idea what was going on in the field for the first month of soccer. All we knew was where the ball was supposed to go. In the goal. Lukily Bay picked it all up super fast.

The girls got to come up with their own team name. First the girls voted on the green aliens, but after sitting on that name for a week they changed their name to the fireflies. Much better I say.

Our Saturdays have been full of all day sports. With Bay having games on Saturday mornings and Logan with double headers that follow, we spent our Saturdays out at the ball parks.
Now that the season is over for outdoor soccer, the coach has asked if we would like to play indoor soccer. If he can get a full team together our sporting days are far from over.

Bulldogs

Logan tried out for a comp baseball team a few months ago. (yeah I'm way behind on my blog)
This tryout was a lot different from his tryout for All Stars. All Star tryouts were a joke. Logan had about 3 min to show what he can do in the field. Not enought time! The tryout for the Bulldogs team was close to an hour and a half. And boy did Logan SHINE!! We left the tryout feeling pretty confident. A day later this is the e-mail we received:

On behalf of the Davis Bulldog's 8U team we would like to invite Logan to join our team. He had a great tryout and will be a valued asset to the team. Please let me know as soon as possible if Logan and you will accept the invitation.

Heck yes we will accept this invitation!! Look how happy these two are!

With any comp team comes a lot of practice. Logan typically has practice two-three times a week. Each practice is an hour and a half. Logan currently is playing center field and first base.

Logan has an incredible talent to track a baseball. Most 7 year olds can't even catch a fly ball let alone one that is hit out into the out field. Speed plays a HUGE role in being able to track a ball and this boy has been blessed with wheels! (sorry to brag)

Aside from the on the field practice, the boys also have fun while secretly practicing. Here are the boys at Farmington pond skipping rocks. Helps with throwing :)

First game of fall ball. we played in Lehi. Let's just say this was a 8 hour day at the baseball field!

We have double headers on Saturdays. Each game is two hours long.

Here is Logan's first time pitching. Did pretty good.

Being on the Bulldogs takes a lot of dedication from the boys and their parents. The boys will play all year long. Come spring we will play in St. George and possibly Mesquite.
Logan LOVES baseball so this dedication is something he wants. As he said, "baseball is my life"
He has such a passion for the game and it shows on the field. He will play a four hour double header and get in the car and ask to go practice at the park. Now that is dedication!!

Tooth fairy?

This was a big day for Carson!! He lost his first tooth!!

Carson was so happy and had lots of questions about the tooth fairy.

*Does she have wings?

*Is she small?

*Does she have a stick with a star on it? AKA a wand (silly kid)

*How will she carry the tooth?

*Is she nice?

And then when it was time for bed the terror set in. He was so scared of her coming in the night and taking his tooth. Eventually he got over being scared and made me laugh with this line of the night.

Carson: Mom, should I wear pants to bed so the tooth fairy doesn't see my underwear? I would be really embarrassed if she saw me.

Love this kid!

First day of School 2012

I can't believe that all of my babies are in school!

This was a big school year for Carson. He started kindergarten this year! He was super excited to be going to the same school as his brother and sister. Carson got the same teacher Logan had for kindergarten. Mrs. Grey.
Little sis started her first year of preschool. She goes to little steps preschool. Her "school" is actually across the street at one of my good friends house. She goes to school on Mondays and Wed from 9:30-11:00. This means I get an hour and a half to my self on those days! I know it doesn't seem like a lot of time alone but to me it is!
