Happy # 4!

Happy Birthday Carson!! I can't believe he is four! This year he wanted a Buzz party. Same theme as last year. The only difference was this year they had TONS of Toy Story party supplies, toys, and cakes thanks to the new TS 3 coming out. Last year I had to get really creative with things.
I decided to make my house the Pizza Planet. No laughing at my sign :)

Each guest had their own table setting.

I found this awesome pack at Walmart that had all of these fun punch out guys.

I couldn't resist making these cute alien cupcakes!!
I used neon food coloring for the frosting, mentos for the eyes, sour straws for the antenna and "orange" slices that came in different colors for the ears.

Oooooooooooo

I had found this AWESOME Buzz costume at DI a few weeks ago for 3 dollars!! It's from the Disney store and came with boots, wings, and even goggles. Carson had to wear it for his party. His friend Issac came in his Buzz costume and I had a cute cowgirl costume that I also found at DI for 3 dollars (Gymboree) that I had Natalie wear so she could be Jesse.

We played pin the ray button on Buzz.

Bean bag toss

One of my favorite games we played was to see who could build their Mr. potato head the fastest.

Go go!!

Moon man game. I had wrapped up a small Buzz figure with foil over and over. I found some Toy Story tunes online and we played "hot potato" Every time the music stopped, the person holding the Buzz got to unwrap a piece of the foil. The person who got to Buzz first got to take him home.

Present time! Grandma got him a garbage truck from the movie TS 3
Nana and Luis got him toy Story bedding!! Let's just say he was EXCITED to go to be that night.

After all the gifts were opened we had pizza.

I couldn't find a Buzz lightyear pinata so I bought a spaceship and printed off Buzz pictures and glued them on. It was too cold outside to hang the pinata from a tree, so Morgan was the lucky one and got to hold it up with a broom. Good thing we are done having kids lol
This picture is so cool! I took it right as the pinata was breaking.

It's cake time!!

Carson could not blow out the candle for some reason! It seriously took him a good four or five times to finally blow out the candle. And no it wasn't a trick candle. He just couldn't get the air out! You can see Bay in the back trying hard to not blow it out herself.

At the end of the party Morgan and I brought out our big gift for Carson.
He got a new bike!!!
Here he is when he first noticed it.

He couldn't wait to ride it!

He took it for a spin in the living room. After everyone had left we took it outside and he rode it like a pro.

I can't believe my little monkey is four already. Time sure does pass us by. I treasure every moment that we have had together. I can't wait to make many more with my little stud. Happy Birthday Carson Daniel!!!

Her beloved

I have a confession to make. I {love} buying shoes for my girls! It's seriously an obsession. My girls have way more shoes than I do. They have to have shoes that will go perfect with their outfits. They each have a pair of black and cream boots, and how can one pass up a cute pair of rain boots? Have you seen the cute patterns they have? Bay has two pairs. The newest pair are leopard print with pink trim way cute! I swear if they had a pair in my size I might have bought them for me :) Anyway, since we are talking about boots, I will start off with a little story about what I woke up to this morning. Last night I had yw's so Morgan had the duty of bedtime with out me. Yeah tough I know. Well I guess Avery would NOT take off her rain boots for bed. Morgan could not get them off of her! So this morning when I got her out of her crib she had her favorite pair of boots still on. I didn't know the story behind the night time boots until later in the day. Avery has had a thing for these super cute boots since the day I bought them. I have to make sure I have an outfit they will go with almost everyday. Sometimes she has on a skirt with cute tights, other times its a pair of jeans. Luckily, these boots go with any shade of pink, and that is what my princess has a lot of in her closet :)
Here is Avery playing dress up. Of course she has to wear her boots and not the princess shoes I got her for Christmas :)

You can dress anything up with a pair of boots

Finally done!

I have been wanting to make these jars since October! Yeah I'm a slacker I know. It has just been so busy around here I haven't had time, and Hobby Lobby were out of these jars for 6 weeks!
I saw this idea on somedaycrafts. When I saw it I knew I had to make them! All you need are some jars, found them at hobby lobby, some candle sticks, some finals, round wooden circles, black paint and jute for the lid.

Tada! I filled the jars with rocks, sand and beans.

Just dance 2

We had to get Just dance 2 for the Wii! It is seriously so fun! Even Avery can bust a move. My favorite thing about it is you really work up a sweat. I can set it so I can play the workout version and burn some calories while having fun. I have to say that Logan is really good at it too. He totally kicks my butt on Jackson 5! One cool thing about this game is you can purchase more songs online and download them right onto the Wii! Gotta love technology.

Avery LOVES to dance.

Back in school

So today half of our family is back in school. Morgan starts his classes tonight. He has a full load with 12 credits. He will be gone on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:30-8:10. This will be hard on the family but I know it will all be worth it when he is finished. I pray that I will have the patience to be a single parent on those days :)

Happy New Year!

2010 brought on some true challenges for our family. Morgan lost his job in Dec of 2009 right before the new year. The first six months of 2010 was lived on unemployment. All I can say is that we made it through those 6 months because of family, friends and the Lord. Without any of these people we wouldn't be where we are today. I'm so thankful to have had support and prayers come our way. Looking back, a year later, I see how this trial made our family grow closer together. We got to spend day after day with each other. The kids grew closer to their father and I realized how much I truly am blessed. Morgan learned a whole new level of patience and a better appreciation for his family. I learned to let people help us and to put complete trust in the Lord. If this is what our family was supposed to gain form this experience than it was worth every min. Although, 2010 had it's downs it sure had it's ups!! Avery turned one and fell in love with princesses. She talks up a storm and loves her daddy. She definitely is a daddy's girl! With her turning 18 months this past year means she goes to nursery. Yippee!! Carson turned 3 and learned to hit a ball off of a T. He is pretty good! He loves to play with ANYTHING that has to do with Toy Story and is all rough and active :) Logan turned 6 and started kindergarten. He has slowly learned to like school. He had a hard time at first but slowly is liking it. He can read pretty good and is like a sponge and soaks up everything he is taught. This past year he has took up skateboarding. He even got to meet Ryan Sheckler! Bailey turned 8 this past year and was baptized by her dad. She is now in 3rd grade and loves to read chapter books. She has started taking piano lessons and is doing pretty good. When you turn 8 you get to join activity days. Bay loves going twice a month. Morgan found a job in June and is working as an estimator. In October we realized he needed to go back to school and got all registered to go to Weber State. In December Morgan was able to baptize his little brother. It was such a cool thing to see. Morgan has also done a lot of home improvement projects around the house. Our fireplace was my favorite thing he finished. I love having a handy man! As for me, I have really been into crafting this past year. I guess you can call it my hobby. I love to create things. In Feb I was called back to YW's and am loving it! We have some pretty amazing girls in out ward. In November Bailey and I were in our first play together, Savior of the world. It was an amazing experience and one we will never forget. I guess I can't leave out that I turned 30 this past year :p With turning 30 Morgan threw me a HUGE surprise party in October! With October brought our trip to Disneyland!! Happy birthday to me! All in all this year was a good one. Even with our ups and downs. I have so much to be thankful for. I have beautiful healthy children. A husband who honors his priesthood and loves me more than one can be loved. I truly have been blessed.
With the coming of the new year I have a few improvements.
1- Be more patient
2- Play more with my children
3- Eat better. Someone has high cholesterol (blush)
4- Exercise more
5- Read everyday
6- Say my personal prayers more. We do good about family prayer, but I need to make sure I say my personal prayers more.
7- Learn to sew
I guess I can go on and on, but if I have too many improvements I may get over whelmed. So I'll leave it with that and see how I do. Happy New Year!!

Here is a picture of some of the youth I get to work with. This was the group that went to the Logan Temple to do baptisms for the dead. Morgan was able to do work for my brother. It was a very spiritual day.
