J-a-z-z G-a-m-e

Tonight Logan and Morgan went to another Jazz game. Carson loves the Jazz and if he found out he wasn't going, would be heart broken. So we kept it a secret. During family home evening it was Bays turn to say the closing prayer. While she prayed she asked that Morgan and Logan drive safely to the J-a-z-z g-a-m-e she spelled it out! When she was done she said, I don't think Carson knew what I just spelled. lol

Just maybe......

Just when I thought I couldn't handle my curious/destructive 2 year old something seems to have changed. Maybe it's because he is going to be 3 next month? But this week has been a mild one for the Griggs household. (knock on wood) Carson has his moments of screaming when he doesn't get his way, but it hasn't happened nearly as often as it used to. He hasn't destroyed anything and is listening so much better! He is becoming more like a little boy than a holy terror : 0) He came up to me the other night, grabbed my face with both of his hands, looked at me and said "you are beautiful mommy" I love that little boy!

Why must they grow up?

Last night I cried my self to sleep. I had been thinking all day about how big my kids are getting. When I went to lay down last night I saw Avery laying in her crib. She looked so big! I couldn't help but start to cry. Where has the time gone? She will be 10 months old in a week. As I watch her everyday she is discovering new things. Right now her favorite thing to do is stand without holding onto anything. Slow down!!! I'm happy when she reaches a milestone, but secretly deep down I'm sad. I want her to stay my little chubby baby.
I have gotten this way with every baby I have had, but I know Avery is our last. I want her to stay little. I hope I have held her enough and played with her enough. I don't want to look back and think I should have done those things more. I guess for now I have to live in the moment. I need do the things with my kids that they probably wont want me to do with them as they get older. Like cuddling at night with my 7 year old, playing batman, and having tickle fights. Morgan helped me feel a bit better last night by saying, be happy, our kids are living, not dying. It's true. I have been blessed to have happy healthy kids. I just need to enjoy EVERY moment I have with them.

Oh Bailey!!

Here is yet another funny that I get to add to the list of saying the funniest things. Avery had her shirt off while I fed her dinner one night and Carson called Avery's chest her boobies. Bailey then said "I wish I had boobies" I asked her why and she replied by saying, "they look fun!"

Jazz game

We were lucky to have gotten 4 tickets to the Jazz game for Christmas. The kids had different reasons why they were excited to go. Logan loves sports and Boozer, Bailey was just excited to be going to a big event and Carson couldn't quit talking about going to see the Jazz bear. We were worried that Carson wouldn't sit still for the whole game. To our surprise he sat very well because he kept trying to find the Jazz bear! Carson got a big surprise when out came the Jazz bear and a mini Jazz bear!
Luckily, they had a great sale on jerseys. At 60% off and with a gift card, we bought three of them for under 20 bucks! The kids loved them.
We had great seats. We were sitting in the lower bowl. Closest I have ever sat. Bailey said that the next time we go she wants to sit up high because it would be fun. I think I'll take seeing actual people instead of looking down on ants.

Happy New Year!

2009 went by fast! I can't believe it's over. So much has happened this past year. The birth of Avery, Bailey starting 2nd grade, Logan starting t-ball, Carson talking up a storm and Morgan doing projects around the house like crazy! I'm glad that we get a chance to "start new" with a new year. One resolution (of many) that I really want to accomplish is to learn how to sew. I have a really nice sewing machine that Morgan bought for me when we were first married, but I have never really learned how to use it. Imagine the possibilities! I love to craft and this will open up a whole new level of crafts! I can't wait.
With the end of 2009 that has meant that Morgan is out of a job. His company had made so many bad choices financially that the company has gone bankrupt. So as of 12:00 Jan 1st, we are without insurance. Scary, but I feel like things will be okay. It's not like me to stay so calm about things, especially with a big life changing event as this. I know that the Lord will open doors for us. Maybe this is the push Morgan needed to try something new and get away from a company that really didn't care about their employees. Who knows. What I do know is that the Lord will take care of us, and we will continue to see the many blessings he provides. May 2010 be a great one!
