Over spring break we decided to go down to Lava Hot Springs for a few days. Can I just say I have never been in a such a small town before? This made Ephraim seem so big!
I found this cute little hotel called the Alpaca Inn. It was perfect.

The kids were super excited to be staying in a hotel. The last time we stayed in one together as a family was when Logan was 18 months old when we went to Disneyland.

This is where the boys would veg

The springs were so much fun. After we got the kids used to how hot the water was they became little fish.
When we were there it was a nice 40 degrees. It was weird to think that we were swimming outside in the winter. As long as we were in the pools we were fine, but as soon as you got out it was cold! Luckily the sidewalks are heated so our feet stayed warm. We even went swimming one night when it was only 20 degrees. That night the steam made it feel like you were in a sauna. Felt so nice!

The springs have five different pools that have different temps. The one farthest away from the spring was the coolest at 102 degrees. We spent most of our time in there. Logan and I went into the pool just above this one and it was HOT. We liked in because the bottom of the pool was sand. Nice beach feel. We could only stay in that pool for about ten min at a time.
When I picture laying out it's not with a towel in 40 degree weather.

I tried to get a picture of the snow on the mountains but the fence wouldn't move :)
We ate at some fun little ma and pa restaurants. Some were yum and one that was not so yum. I wont mention the name on here, but if you do go down to Lava ask me the name. I'll save some money.
This one had the yummiest veggie burger I have ever tasted!I love the atmosphere in this little restaurant. It had a 50's feel. Loved the idea to put records on the ceiling.
Look how small this library is. Everything down there was old school.
Walking the town
We went to the Idaho Historical Museum. They had some pretty interesting things in there. It was an old museum and when we walked in the kids couldn't help but say how old it smelled inside. We had a fun little getaway. It's nice to get out now and then, even if it is in a small town.

Too fun!! Hey, we also ate at the restaurant with records on the ceiling when we were in Lava last summer. We thought it was funny because our girls hadn't seen old records before!
and yay! You found your camera!
What a fun little weekend getaway!! Looks like a you guys had a great time! :)
I think all of Idaho, save Boise, is old school. Everywhere I've been any way. And the potato museum we went to in Blackfoot totally smelled old too! Maybe that's another Idaho thing?
