One of the most scariest moments in my life happened on a nice family hike up Ogden Canyon.
After hiking about an hour or so we finally made it to the waterfall! We were so happy to see what we hiked so hard for. I decided to take some pictures and saw a beautiful picture opportunity for Morgan and I. I saw a ledge right under the waterfall. I told Bay to take a picture of us once we climbed up to the ledge. As we approached the mountainside I realized that it was too steep and really wet and slippery. I didn't feel comfortable having Morgan or myself climb such a dangerous slope. I backed away and I tried to talk Morgan into turning around. I kept telling him it wasn't a good idea. It wasn't until Morgan was about 18 feet up that he too realized it wasn't such a good idea after all. As he begun to turn around to come back down, he slipped on the wet rocks and fell 18 feet to the ground. It happened so fast and all I could to was run over to him and hold him. I was so scared I was going to see bones sticking out or a head injury of some sort. As I'm holding Morgan he kept saying, "I think I broke my legs" I was so scared. The kids were crying. They had just witnessed their dad falling off of a waterfall and landing on a pile of rocks. As I let go of Morgan to check his body it was a miracle that he had no serious injuries like I had thought. He was bruised and scrapped. His shin was bleeding pretty good but he had no head wounds! I was so surprised! The one thing we did know was that his ankles were not working. We also knew we still had to walk back down the mountain some how. Luckily, Carson had carried a perfect walking stick the entire way up to the waterfall. Morgan was able to use the stick and walked, with one broken ankle and with torn tendons in the other. It took us a long time to make it back down to the car. With every step Morgan's ankles would get bigger and bigger. There wasn't time to sit and rest because the adrenaline was wearing off and the pain was getting unbearable. By the time we got to the car it had taken us close to two hours to get down the mountain. Once we got to the car I raced home to drop the kids off at the neighbors and hurried to the hospital.
The doctors couldn't believe that Morgan had survived such a long fall. They told us of a man who had died doing the same thing at the same waterfall a few years back.
Morgan is extremely lucky to have been able to "walk" away from such a horrific fall. I know that he was being watched over by our guardian angels. I know how lucky we are that Morgan is alive. This accident has really opened up my eyes as to how fragile life really is. In a second I could have lost the love of my life. My children could have lost their father. I'm so grateful things didn't end up that way.
Morgan had to be off of work for a month. He couldn't use crutches due to having two bad ankles. I had to bathe him and basically do everything for him for some time. It was OK because he is with us and I'm eternally grateful to my Heavenly Father for letting me keep him.

About a week before our Morgan broke his ankle, Morgan H had broken her leg. Here is a picture of the two crippled Morgan's :) Must be the name.
Morgan learned how to get around. I teased him so bad this day because his cart battery died in the middle of an isle in Sams Club! I had to pull him as I pushed my shopping cart to the checkout stand. Yes he was one of those people! Ha ha!
